The relentless wave of innovation that has transformed other business sectors in the past decade is now sweeping over real estate - an age-old industry ripe for disruption.
A new generation of property-tech (PropTech) entrepreneurs have emerged offering innovative new ways to buy, sell, lease, finance and manage property.
This is creating huge opportunities and challenges in one of the largest and most valuable asset classes in the world.
But what exactly is PropTech? Why has it been such a news item lately? What does PropTech mean for real estate professionals? Who will be affected? What are the issues at stake?
Between automatisation and uberisation, PropTech is both threatening and promising.
The PropTech Australia Summit will tell you what you need to know.
Connect with investors - Pitch your startup live on stage.
The Proptech Summit we will be hosting a pitching competition where pre-selected startups will battle it out on stage for a number of prizes including mentoring, places in accelerator programs and investor meetings.
5 Startups will be given the opportunity to deliver their elevator pitches to a specialist audience from the real estate sector and a high-calibre jury.
The participating startups will first be selected by a jury among all applicants.
"PropTech has become the central topic at most property conferences around the world as the industry is finally opening up to change. The PropTech Summit is the first opportunity for a focused discussion on this topic in Australia and I expect the very best property and PropTech people to be in attendance at what promises to be a fascinating couple of days."
James Dearsley, Proptech Consult
"The real estate industry has long been considered a laggard, insofar as technology adoption and innovation is concerned. But that tide is shifting, and it has the capacity to radically change the way we live, work, play and invest, both locally and in developing economies abroad. I'm exciting to be speaking at the PropTech Summit alongside a number of game-changers in the space"
Steve Glaveski, Collective Campus
